In November 2017 google launched Files Go, a useful application that brought together in the same app a series of tweaks to free up space on our Android device like searching for duplicate images or large files. One of its main shortcomings was the impossibility of navigating the system of internal memory folders like any traditional file explorer. Luckily, with their latest update, they have taken note of this and have solved this problem as well as adding a series of improvements to the application.
To activate the scan of folders of the device we must be in the tab Explore, open the context menu at the top right of the screen and click on “Show storage devices” to display it under the usual categories of that menu. The functionality of the browser is extremely simple, but we do not need anything else, select groups of files, move them, copy them or delete them.
Another new feature is the inclusion of a protection system to analyze APKs, available in the Applications section, allowing you to install them from there, create backup copies in Google Drive or check their reliability according to Google Play Protect standards. The latter is a double-edged sword because as we know, Google is not too permissive with applications that are not in Google Play regardless of whether they are legal or not.
The other two great additions are the inclusion of your own media player, so we can see the photos and videos that we have stored in the terminal without having to resort to an external application. On the other hand, it has improved the speed when sharing files, reaching, according to them, rates of 500Mbps.
