For the first time in nearly 15 years of the messenger’s existence, the software giant decided to update the basic functionality of the application. Before that, users had to resort to third-party solutions for recording conversations in Skype, for example, using the popular Avatar utility.

Call recording is a completely cloud-based feature, as soon as you turn on the recording, the interlocutors will be notified about this, explain in Microsoft. The current innovation is part of a major upgrade of Skype, which will be deployed in stages.

Almost simultaneously with the update of the messenger functionality, Microsoft rolled out a new classic version of Skype for Windows, which now receives a unified design and includes many functions of the mobile application. The developers simplified the exchange of photos, videos, and files in group chats, as well as sharing the screen during calls. Finally, there were @ mentions in conversations, reactions to messages and a notification panel. There is even a gallery (“media collection”) to simplify the search for common links, documents or photos in chat rooms.
